Dedicated to those parents & kids who are separated by distances which prohibit them from having physical contact on a regular basis. Parenting is about being involved, being loving and being available. A parent doesnt need to be within immediate touching range to be loving, caring and to be a big part of a child's life and development. Although it's difficult to be far away, with enough resolve, any parent who is far away can play as big a part as the parent who is near the child. Distance parents face a unique set of challenges and feelings that proximity parents dont face. General parenting sites, while helpful don't offer the support we need. The articles, hints and tips in these pages are helpful, not only for long-distance parents such as myself but for all parents. They are ways to say 'I love you' and be aware of a child. Most of all, hopefully, long-distance parents will find hope and something to connect with. Dont give up!
